The new Surf Falls at Laguna Beach Club, designed by Grace Loudon

Surf Falls, the stunning new waterfall at Laguna Beach Club will be the perfect backdrop for the Namiko Fashion Show Surf Spectacular scheduled for Saturday March 3rd at 2:00 p.m PST (SLT). Be the first to see the stunning new line of Namiko bikinis, boardshorts and surf boards by the noted Second Life designer, Keala Mimistrobell.

?¬¢‚Äö√ᬮ?√¨Namiko beachwear never disappoints.?¬¢‚Äö√ᬮ¬¨√π Says Valiant Strangelove, Laguna Beach Club owner. I know the designs, fabrics and textures represent the spirit of the club. Our staff and lifeguards are exclusively outfitted in the Namiko beachwear line and they receive rave reviews from customers world-wide. ?¬¢‚Äö√ᬮ?√¨How can I dress like that lifeguard??¬¢‚Äö√ᬮ¬¨√π Is a question I get asked daily?¬¢‚Äö√ᬮ¬¨√π, says Strangelove. ?¬¢‚Äö√ᬮ?√¨I also love that a portion of the proceeds …

Party Wave. heh.

Fridays are surf days at Chi! Well, technically, every day is surf day at Chi. But Friday afternoons is when we get a nice turnout at the beach…

Caly, Val, Gaz, Keala and Seb on the beach at Chi

Keala coming out of a duck dive…

Heather and Seb’s new windsurfers are out in force now! Kirsten Gollob on the blue windsurfer.

Blue, Keala, Max and Mal catching the same wave… partaaay.

Is it simply amazing that five or six of us can catch the same wave? It’s awesome.

See you guys next week at Chi!

Ripping it up at Chi, this Friday

Hey guys. This Friday, February 2nd at 5 pm SLT… we’ll be getting together to surf the brand new pipe waves at Chi (122, 205, 22)… come watch, come surf, come with your friends…

Sally and Poid, the owners of the full surf sim at Chi have graciously allowed us to descend en masse and try out their newly landscaped beach and newly installed surf waves. Many of the Namiko Team Riders will be out in force goofing off in the waves and trying to keep from getting crunched into the sand. Come surf with us… or if you haven’t been initiated into the life that is surfing, IM Malcolm Sydney, Seano Osumi, or Caly Sleaford for a surf lesson!

Send an IM to any of Keala Mimistrobell, Caly Sleaford, Blue Alonzo, Inara Tokyo, Suzy Shenzhou, Malcolm Sydney, Surferjoe Wind or Moin …

Custom Delivery

Phew. All done. Malcolm Sydney commissioned a couple boards from me earlier this month and I just had a sec to get them done. These three boards were delivered last week:

From left to right, the boards are called: Quan Li, South China Sea, and Emme B

You can see them up close and personal here or in-world.

The ‘Quan Li’ board is, of course, inspired by everybody’s favourite surf spot ?¬¢‚Äö√ᬮ‚Äö√Ñ√π Quan Li. The design on this board includes in-world photography and Keala’s handlettering. This board was a gift from Mal to Emme… ((cue: awwwww…..)).

The ‘South China Sea’ board incorporates a detailed photo taken in the Imperial Gardens at the Forbidden City in Beijing as well as a Chinese character taken from a temple in the south of China. The photo depicts some relief carvings of dragons in the white marble walls …

Seb & Pixie's Wedding… Take 2

Last night, Sebastian Saramago and Pixie Gibb of Quan Li got hitched… again! At their first wedding in December, there were some issues with lag and multiple crashes. The reception didn’t really go off and so, Seb and Pixie decided to do it all over again.

Among the guests were team riders, Malcolm and Emme as well as Blue… dressed to kill. How do you know you have surfers at a wedding? I got an IM from Blue during the ceremony (when Pixie crashed) that just read, “I feel like surfing.”

Second Life weddings are unique… there aren’t many places where you’d hear this at a wedding:

Vixen Lefebvre: Pixie, if you can exchange your vows with Sebastian.

Sebastian Saramago: Please, …

Movie madness…

The entire Laguna Beach Club crew and I were all working hard all weekend getting the stage set for the Sundance movie premiere… and it was perfect. The screen was set, surfboards propped up next to the screen, and platforms for our surf couples to hang out at…

Here’s Billi and Vali doing a quick run-through of the model poseballs…

Lester was setting up the new hot tub at the club and I was helping out… really, I was.

THEN, just two hours before the event was to start, Vali found out the movie was going to show in widescreen… so we had to re-do the whole screen very quickly. We finished just in time for the pre-show at 4 pm and everything looked fantastic… but you have to take my word on that. I was running about and crashing every five minutes, …

Working on the weekend? np.

Outside my window, it’s freezing cold and snowing intermittently… but here, I’m working in the perfect, warm sun at the beach in a bikini. It just doesn’t get better than this…

Vali and Keala hard at work…

Can I say, ‘I love my job’?

We’re getting set to host a simultaneous live feed of the upcoming Sundance film premiere for ‘Four Eyed Monsters’. Vali has done a gorgeous job of building out the stage platform and the collection of palm trees behind the screen. I’ve added several surfboards to the set, and we’ll be having some friendly surfers and team riders hanging out on stage before the film. In fact, two of our newest team riders, Emme Bourjade and Malcolm Sydney, will be hanging out before the show… they are both super friendly, take wicked …

First ride of the year

Oh. My. God.

What a way to start off the year…

Keala pulling into a sweet backside barrel at Quan Li

Heather Goodliffe has been hard at work, designing new waves for us to surf… You can give them a try at the Quan Li beach. You’ll need to join the “Endless Summer Surfers” group (if you are not already a member) so that you can use the new surfboards.

These massive waves… (what double-overhead? triple-overhead?) have some real power. The first couple of times, I bailed and heh heh this is what I saw:

Swallowing salt water…

About to be spit out the end of the tube

And yes… getting barrelled in Second Life adds a layer of difficulty to your surf session… but these guys make it look easy…

Inara Tokyo pulls into the first wave of the session… lucky girl.

Harry Oldbull, the most stoked guy …

Reece & Shawntel's Wedding

December seems to be a good month for weddings in SL… and luckily, we have such nice weather. I had the pleasure of being invited to Reece and Shawntel’s wedding by my friend, Pav, who I’ve known since we were both t-shirt wearing newbs. He took some fabulous photos of the whole event…
