Seb & Pixie's Wedding

I’ve been looking forward to this event for a while now… Sebastian Saramago is SL’s top surfboard maker/shaper and he built me my beloved surfboards a couple weeks ago. Seb and his fiancee, Pixie, were married last night in a beautiful ceremony at Isola di Amore (a private sim) and I was really quite thrilled to be there as a guest.

Weddings, in general, make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside… that healthy glow of optimism… of bright futures… of shared happiness. And a Second Life wedding is no less inspiring… In fact, it seemed to cement for me that we aren’t wasting our time or energy in SL and that the investment of passion and emotion that we put into SL can be rewarded with honest, genuine connections and relationships… A chance encounter within SL might lead you to …

Fashion Show at Silva Mura

Yesterday, December 16th, was my one-month birthday! And what better way to celebrate than to be a part of your very first fashion show…

Keala… on her one-month birthday

My uber-talented friend, Joe, came to take photos of the event:

New custom boards for Keala…

So. Very. Exciting. I just picked up my three brand new surfboards!

Since coming to SL, I’ve loved using the boards that are lying around at Quan Li… but travel being so inexpensive (read ‘free’) in SL, I’ve wanted to take a board with me to other waves. Sebastian Saramago makes fantastic ‘advanced’ SL surfboards — you can paddle out, carve, and do tricks, whatever. You can buy one of his boards off the rack at Quan Li or have him design a custom board for you. Me being, well, me… I wanted to design my own board. By the end of nearly two dozen design options, I settled on three and couldn’t choose between them. So. I got all three.

From the left, they are now called Dragon (because dragons bring me luck), Tendril (because I wanted something organic), and Sakura …
