These sets include both bikini bottoms and boyshorts (one of Cierra’s requests!!)… and they are just yummy. You can buy all five colours or turn to your left in the shop and buy them separately.

Another new thing is that these bikinis are on the shirt/pants layer, so no more fighting with your tattoo layers. Yay. Tasty. Summer is here.

Like other ...]]> Did I get inspired in Fiji? Of course. How could I not get inspired, drinking kava and seeing new textiles and art? This is the first set of bikini and boardshorts based on one of the spots I visited (yeah, there’s more stuff coming!!)… Pacific Harbour at the south coast of the big island of Fiji.

Bamboo for a boardshort or bikini fabric? Yes. Bamboo fabric is extremely durable and has a natural sheen similar to silk — it is a truly luxurious, natural fibre. Like other natural fibers such as hemp, it is anti-bacterial, breathable and biodegradable. In addition, bamboo is one of the fastest growing plants in the world, reaching maturity within three to four years, and can be cultivated without pesticides or fertilizers. So, bamboo-fabric boardshorts and bikinis? Definitely.

The fashion show at Laguna Beach Club yesterday saw an incredible turnout and it was exciting to see so many people out! We filled the sim! The background for the surf-themed extravaganza is the Laguna Beach Club showstopper, Surf Falls, the creation of designer Grace Loudon of the famed wilderness sim of Laura. Towering above the inlet, the interactive waves by Heather Goodlife crash spectacularly into the Falls and challenge more experienced surfers to navigate the pass.

Look for surfboard and jetski giveaways and raffle items from other beach club vendors including H2Ocean and Surf Republic. It?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s a day of fashion and fun so catch a wave to the Laguna Beach Club and the Namiko Fashion Show Surf Spectacular oceanside and under the stars in the beautiful sim of Laguna.

Inspired by the traditional textiles of Indonesia, these bikini sets are based on the fabrics of sarongs and selendang (shawls/slings) worn in the Palembang area of Sumatra. Executed in ikat-dyed silk, these fabrics are often trimmed with supplementary gold weft threads in ornate patterns.

These new bikinis are available at both our Toowoomba and Laguna Beach Club locations in-world. Each individual set is $195L and includes a patterned top, patterned bottom and plain bottom so you can mix and match if you like. Or get the ‘Everything’ set with both colours and patterns (a total of ...]]> Huzzah… we have new stuff for girls this week. One of our team riders is going to Indonesia in RL next week for surfing and I got all… jealous. So instead of dwelling on that, I designed new bikinis…

Each collection features five new colours derived ...]]> Over the past couple weeks, I’ve been busy setting up a second location for Namiko Surf Co. at the Laguna Beach Club. It’s crazy busy around here with a sim full of nude beach residents and me trying to put up shop posters… but it’s all coming together!

The exciting news is that I’m working on developing a dozen or so new surfboard designs with Sebastian Saramago that will be available for sale at the Laguna shop in a few days or so… For a preview, head on over to the shop and see the sample boards… (Laguna/183/87/22)

There is a new collection of boardshorts (for guys or girls) called ‘Slash’ and bikinis called ‘Cocoa Beach’. Each collection features five new colours derived from a variety of natural dyes including madder (reds), osage (yellow golds), logwood (deep purples), indigo (blues), cochineal (pinks and purples), and cutch (warm caramel) and iron (grey). And as always, the boardshorts look just as sweet on girls as they do on guys…

Does all work and no play make Keala a boring girl? I hope not. Here’s proof that I’m still making time to surf…

Last night, I surfed a new-to-me spot called the North Shore at imagiLEARNING (65, 215, 21)… a small but nicely designed sim with at several sets of waves installed — a couple that will take you back into shore… and another set that allows you to surf down about half the length of the sim.

I’m keeping a list of surf spots in Second Life, so if you see one you like let me know and we can post it on the list here… Or if you’d like to shoot some pics and write a review of a spot here, IM me and we’ll get you published!
